Pre-Clinical Days IVIore vividly these days stand out than any other part of our training. Al- though the rest is something welll never forget. Pre-Clinical days are to be remembered as the days our instructors tries to fill our hazy heads with knowledge, never to be forgotten. Never Will I forget the day we all met at 351 Allison Ave., the nursest home, each one of us wondering what was in store for us. Gradually we learned. One of the most startling experiences was when we were called to the oilice and issued a stack of books, more than all we used in our high school days, but we soon got accustomed to that, studying each one a little every day; with tests, quizzes and so forth. Each morning7 bright and early, classes began. Another thing we wonlt forget is the back-breaking exercises we experienced out in the back alley each morning to perk us up for a very trying class in Anatomy and Physiology. It proved to be very helpful too, for our classroom was inclined to make us sleepy it seemed. This was before our lovely new classroom was built, of course. Another outstanding day was the first day we were assigned to hall work, actual nursing care. We had given baths and nursing procedures to Mr. and Mrs. Chase in our practical classroom, but this was diiferent, all live patients, the idea scared us a little I think, but most of us came through with llying colors, finding it more interesting With actual patients. Then came exams, and hnally the day we had all looked forward to for six long months, the day we were capped and really accepted into the training school. BETTY WILLIAMS I381
