W fy of a new school year. students began to experience growing pains. Whether they were advancing from junior high, from lonely sophomores to middle class juniors, or whether they were seniors at the top of the totem pole, they had goals which included making this year at Jeff the best possible. Although many heroic and egotistical aspirations accompanied this growing process, our main goal was to prove that the West was No. 1, that we were unbeatable, untouchable, and unable to be compared with anyone. lt was our respon- sibility to fulfill this annual dream and to ac- complish feats that would always be remembered. The overwhelming consensus hare at Jeff is that we are No. 1, we're proud of our school, and we're willing to sacrifice to make this dream a reality.

With a staff of over 80 teachers available. and more than 105 courses and 15 various gym classes from which to choose. students were remind- ed that Jeff is a very advanced educational in- stitution. Allowing students to arrange their own schedules as well as deciding what time they wish to start and end their days are just two of Jeff's positive aspects. With its well balanced curriculum and variety of course offerings, Jefferson was re-enforcing the claim that, as a school, it was truly rated No. 1.
