The Bad Respect Jefferson is a really beautiful building, but many of the kids don't respect it or take care of it. They don't know what a waste basket is for.” If you leave a book or something for a minute you're lucky if it’s there when you come back. Some kids use bad words.” The Pit The pit is a real disgrace, that kind of stuff should not be permitted in a school. Ifs dumb having a rule against smoking in school and then having the pit. Either they should allow kids who want to smoke anywhere or enforce the rules.” School Spirit The only people with any school spirit are the cheerleaders, at games people don't watch or cheer they just socialize. No one seems to be too interested in school activities except for drinking parties. Detention No comments we received about the detention room were fit to print. 19

Homecoming 1977 was both a disaster and a grand old tradition. Rain washed out the parade and the football game on Friday night. The game was rescheduled for Monday and played in a drizzle on a field which was muddy and slippery. The weather, the footing, and the opposition all joined together to cause a loss for our guys. The theme for the event also came under attack for its unintentional portrayal of the Native American. However, the weather, the loss, and the complaint did not destroy the good side of Homecoming. The coronation went smoothly, the dance was enjoyed by all who attended, and the alumni got a chance to ask those they hadn’t seen for a while, “What ya' up to? 21
