Jeff's 1965 Homecoming Queen Sue Breeden smiles as the starry-eyed princesses of her court stand around her. Enthusiasm Explodes at Homecoming A smile of delight comes over Susan Breeden's face as Bob Pastlethwait bestows a victory kiss upon her cheek. Enthusiasm which had built up for over a week exploded on the night of October l5, when Jett played Brebeut High School, and the i965 Homecoming Queen was chosen. A grand silence came over the gay crowd at halt time, when Bob Postlethwait, Student Council presi- dent, stepped up to the microphone and an- nounced Sue Breeden as the Jett Homecoming Queen for l965. Her court consisted of Jeanne Crutchfield, Peggy Fountain, Claire Galloway, and Kathi Kiser. After presenting Queen Sue with a sparkling silver crown and a fragrant bouquet of red roses, Bob gave her a congrat- ulatory kiss and the crowd burst into thunder- ous applause. To set the scene tor the momentous occa- sion, the goal posts were tied with red and black crepe paper streamers. Jett pupils, too, wore the school colors along with their white mums. Among these adding a special touch to the atmosphere of the evening were the mem- bers ot the l955 football squad returning to boost Jeff.

'Kew Shortly before The Mouse That Roared begins, Bob Hicks is skillfully made up by make-up artist Marcia Beck. Mouse Makes Big Emily Backus is appalled at the actions of her subjects Jim Caldwell and Connie Hughes in the All-School Play. Robin Gilham is astounded at guarding the bomb as Tom Richey and Barry Davis suggested to her and her sisters. Roar at Sunnyside After a month of practice, The Mouse That Roared was presented on November ll and l2, I966 in the Sunnyside Auditorium. ln the hilarious comedy Duchess Gloriana, played by Emily Backus, a senior, was plagued with finding a solution to the problem of her country's state of near bankruptcy. Looking to history for an answer, Gloriana decided to de- clare war on the United States! Her study showed that the quickest way to wealth would be to lose a war to America, because of its people's strange way of giving aid to anyone it defeats. The other main leads were played by Randy Kraft, a sophomore, as Tully Bescom, Jim Cald- well as Count Mountjoy, and Dave Long as David Benter. Stu Brassie was appointed as the student dir- rector, and James Hawker, speech teacher, was the director. Richard Jaeger, choir director, su- pervised the make-up for the production. Rob- ert Butz, English teacher, was in charge of the props, scenery, and set design for the satire.
