Ak, Choir practice Page ?9 Section leaders VOCAL AND INSTR Music gives enioyment to both the musicians and the listener. JeFt's choral groups presented several convos for the student body and enter- tain many outside groups. To become a mem- ber of the A Cappella Choir is a great honor for a singer. To qualify one must pass several different vocal tests and demonstrate a genuine interest in music. There are several other vocal organizations in Jeff. These include the Choral- airs, Girls' Glee Club, and the Mixed Chorus. Miss Camilla White is director of vocal music at Jeff. Many Jet? vocalists have won high ratings at various music contests. Miss Myrtle Robellaz directs the iunior high chorus.

UMENTAL MUSIC Jeft's instrumental groups, under the direc- tion of B. A. McAdams, have presented concerts at Christmas and other special events, and they provided the overture and other accompani- ments throughout the annual Red and Black Revue. Several .left students were charter members ofthe Lafayette Civic Symphony and appeared at the Percy Grainger Concert. Jeft's instrumentalists have won exceptional honors at state contests during the year. Miss Nellie Slayback directs the Junior Orchestra.
