APRIL April-the month in which all Jeff students have their day to celebrate, namely the first. QHA lj There was a real day of celebration in April, however, as the 6th marked the start of Easter vacation. Al- though April was a month of many showers, winter was finally over, and the 30 days on that leaf of the calendar were thoroughly enjoyed. April was the month that, after about 2 semesters of industri- ous endeavor, the NAUTILUS went to press. On the very first day of the month, the Hi-Tri sponsored the annual Moonlight Serenade, with Bob Doran's band. The Bronchoette Gallop, very successful this year, was held Saturday the 29th. There were also many excellent convocations held in April. April saw the launching of a very successful track season by jeff's harriers. Spring vacation. April showers. Page 12 MARCH March was a great month for our athletic, dra- matics, and speech teams. jeff, of course is most proud of the great basket- ball team that struggled and fought its way to the final game at Indianapolis. The students will long remember the sharp shooting, the fast dribbling, and the great rebounding of the 1950 team. Does one recall those exciting games at Purdue Semi- Finals, where jeff's boys upset favored Hammond and South Bend Central in very thrilling games? Our speech and debate teams placed several con- testants in the finals at Bloomingtong also some of the members of the senior class, those talented in dramatics, presented the senior play the 24th and 25th. The play, Mother Is A Freshman , was one of the best ever presented by jefferson High School students. Almre: Round peg, square hole-duh! Center: Second out of 766. That's sumpin', Brother. Page l-Q MAY Along about May, jeff students got the idea that the school year was about over, and that it was time to let down. Lessons just received a casual glance, but perhaps that wasn't such a bad philosophy after all. This was the time of the year that the seniors were joyous, for after four long years, it was almost time to gradaute. May also was the month of the Senior Prom and the month of the Speedway race, which many jeff students attended. May was also the month of the Indianapolis relays for the trackmen, and many suc- cessful baseball games for jeff apple-knockersu, This time of the year also provided the setting for many picnics, hikes, and outings.
