OCTOBER , . 5.4: Y, . 7, r, 5 4, ,M If . J 1 Sl, or It seemed that September slipped away very quickly, and as one morning dawned, behold, it was October. The activities of the school began to flower and come into full swing. The various clubs began their drives for new members, and everyone began to par- ticipate in the social whirl. At noon, during the lunch hour, the more am- bitious students had a chance to release their energies by playing intramural football in the gym. This was the month in which preparations were made for the Red and Black Revue, and the Booster Danceg the month that those dreaded little grade cards came out. Remember the burning of the mid- night oil just before the six weeks tests? Afterward, that studying seemed to have been futile. Lefl: Who's kidding who? S SEPTEMBER Back to school again after a wonderful but seem- ingly short vacation! Oh, it wasn't really bad to be back againg for it was great to see all of one's old friends once moreg there were new people enrolled in the schoolg underclassmen that could be hazed,' fremember when the freshman bought convo and elevator ticketsj. Yes, September was the month when the old grind resumed. There was the regular red tape of a high school-the long waiting in line at the book deposi- But this time of the year wasn't meant for school onlyg there were many picnics and hayridesg the athletic field resounded to the kicking of footballs and the flying feet of our cross country squad. This was the month that our gridiron men de- feated the Crispus Attucks, Frankfort, and Kokomo teams in spite of overwhelming odds against them. Their only loss was to a powerful Cathedral team. NOVEMBER November-the month when one event would fall right on the heels of another. First everyone was in a flutter about the Booster dance, next the Red and Black Revue received our attention, either as thrilled participants, or as very enthralled specta- tors. The day after the Revue, everyone rushed to Ross-Ade Stadium, for the annual jeff-Wfest Side football game which Jeff Won. After the game, many people journeyed to the gym where a stocking hop was held. November also marked the start of the basketball season, the Bronchos playing Lebanon and Rossville. Page S
