RADIO PROGRAM A radio program in which a general business discussion was carried on was broadcast for a semes- ter from Mr. Minier's jun- ior Business Class from 9:00 to 9: 15. The program was carried on as a general class discussion and regular classroom technique was used. Howard Smith acted as engineer for the pro- gram. FRIENDSHIP TRAIN Students of Jefferson High School, mind- ful of the food shortage in the countries overseas, donated food and money to be taken on the Friendship Train on its tour through the United States to collect food for the unfortunate people of the world. Clubs and rooms donated money and to- gether bought quantities of food, and indi- viduals gave individual donations. Marilyn White, the girl to the left. is the originator of the idea, and Miss Radcliffe was the sponsor of the group. The project was conducted by the first hour Health Education class. Hetrick. L'ha'uu, Of the various musical organizations in the school the Mixed Chorus is one of the largest and oldest. Its membership for each semester is between fifty and sixty students. The chorus was first organized twenty years ago and has contributed entertainment for various school functions. Miss Camilla White has been the director and the organizer of the Chorus. A student is selected to accompany the Chorus each semester. The students themselves select the officers. The officers for '47 were: Noel Schilling, president, Julia McMurray. secretary-treasurer: Ruth Ann Rogers, librarian, and Bob Semmes was accompanist. For the semester of '48: Ray Baumgardt, president, Dolores Radcliffe, secretary-treasurer, Lois Phillips, librarian, and Carol Dexter was the publicity director. l'uy.- 4
