The purpose of the Societas Latina is to promote an interest in Roman customs and give the students a better understanding of Roman culture aside from the school work, as well as to promote friendship and sociability among the students of the whole department. Their programs are planned to bring out Roman background in an interesting way. The membership signifies a great interest in the club. Its purposes are to bring all girls in jeff closer together, to inspire them to a more sociable and active life in school. and to give them a deeper spiritual understanding. The club has been very active this year. They had parties for the members at Halloween and Christmas, and combined with the Bronc's Hi-Y and had a Valentine party. They sponsored a mixer and did several other things to raise money for the picnic that they gave. The special event of the year was the Christmas party at which a pinata was broken and presents were scattered everywhere. The interesting monthly meetings of this club are sponsored by Miss Arlie Norman and Mrs. Joyce Schlotzhauer.
