The object of the Master Machinists' Club is to create an interest in machine shop work and the related metal trades. The club makes field trips and also has interesting speakers direct from local industries. In this way the shop work and club activities are very closely related, proving very valuable to both. Two dinner programs are held each year and have proven equal to the slogan of the club- This Is Our Best Year. Officers for this year were president. The Future Homemakers of America is the national organization of pupils studying homemaking in junior and senior high schools of the United States and Territories. It offers opportunity for further development of pupil initiative in planning and carry- ing out activities related to homemaking. The emblem of the club shows a house supported by two hands which symbolizes that the future houses of America are in the hands of its youth. The motto of the club is Toward New Horizons . The colors are red and white and the flower is a red rose. There are four degrees of achievement toward which the members may work. As these degrees are won, a new symbol may be added to the chain supporting the pin guard. Purposes of the Club 1. To promote a growing appreciation of the joys and satisfactions of home-making. 2. To emphasize the importance of worthy have membership. 3. To encourage democracy in home and community life. 4. To work for good homes and family life for all. 5. To promote international good will. 6. To foster the development of creative leadership in home and community life. 7. To provide wholesome individual and group recreation. 8. Its purposes are to bring all girls in jeff closer together, to inspire them to a more sociable and active life in school. and to give them a deeper spiritual understanding. The club has been very active this year. They had parties for the members at Halloween and Christmas, and combined with the Bronc's Hi-Y and had a Valentine party. They sponsored a mixer and did several other things to raise money for the picnic that they gave.
