Sweet. 9.4.5 What do the letters G.A.C. represent and how may I become a member of this organi- zation? These are two questions that are most frequently asked by the freshman girls at Jeff. First, G.A.C. stands for the Girls' Advisory Council and has been in existence here at Jeff under the sponsorship of the Dean of Girls since November of 1921. The purpose of the club is to give service to the school and community. The club provides office and Sunshine Room scouts. This year it has sponsored a check-room for use during basketball games and assisted with the March of Dimes collection in the parochial and city schools. Miss Slayback is the sponsor and the officers are: Pat Neher. presidentg Patty Roberts, vice-president: Joyce Arnold. secretary: Jean Barnhart, treasurer. The program and social activities are determined by the officers and committees each year. Any Jeff girl having sixteen or more credits, who has been recommended by the teachers and the Dean of Girls, who has no more than one unsatisfactory grade on her report card and no office record against her, is eligible for membership. l'ugu 'll
