The purpose of the Society Latina is to create an interest in Roman customs and give the students a better understanding of Roman culture aside from the school work, as well as promote friendship and sociability among the whole department. Their programs consisted of bringing out Roman background in an interesting way. The membership signifies a great interest in the Club. The officers for the year were Primus Counsul CPresidentj. Bauer, L. Goldsberry, L. Wilson. The A Cappella Choir was a new organization at Jeff this year. It was directed by Miss White and was very proud of its 40 members. It has done a wonderful service for the public by singing for various churches, meetings, banquets, sometimes as often as two or three times a week. The club is organized on a demerit system and therefore has no officers. The officers of the Girls' Glee Club for the past year have been Pam Neher. President: Carolyn Bol, Secretary-Treasurer: and Roxy Hoover, Librarian. The girls have participated in many activities includ- ing the Spring Festival at Lebanon. a convocation. and some of them were in the operetta, Don Alonso's Treasure . Their speakers consisted of Miss Virginia Lewis. who spoke about Guatemala, the Pan-American Highway, and all the Latin American countries. The Spanish Club studies the customs, language, and songs of our Latin Amer- ican neighbors.
