Their speakers consisted of Miss Virginia Lewis. who spoke about Guatemala, the Pan-American Highway, and all the Latin American countries. The Spanish Club studies the customs, language, and songs of our Latin Amer- ican neighbors. The purpose of the Society Latina is to create an interest in Roman customs and give the students a better understanding of Roman culture aside from the school work, as well as promote friendship and sociability among the whole department. During the year, their programs have consisted of several speakers. among whom have been Mr. Carnahan of Purdue, Mr. George Smith of Jefferson, and Dr. James of Purdue. During the football season it had charge of one of the concessions, and during the basketball season the club sold Broncho hats and plates for automobiles.
