Oct. 4-Bumps and spills and lots of thrills! At least for those who attended the Senior lli-Y skating party. N A Oct. 6-Fire prevention convo. The firemen were merciful this year, they didn t merely dust off their old jokes - they polished 'em. Oct. 20-First dance of the year. the Booster dance, gave the terpsichorean season .1 mar- velous send-off. Oct. 21-The weary dancers had a chance to sleep it all off during the next few days, but the poor teachers had to go to their convention. Oct. 27-Convo. Nov. 3-Another convo. Nov. 9-And still another. Colonial Wfilliamftburg this time. Fascinatinf suh an' ma'm, fascinatin'! Nov. IU-The big show at last! The colossal, stupendous, description-defying Red and Black Revue, '37 edition. Nov. li-The football banquet gave hero worshipers a chance to gaze upon our mighty athletes en masse. Nov. 17-Carlton Sturdy Qsounds like heap big strong man, ugh!j appeared at convoca- tion. Nov. 18-And on his heels came the Southland jubilee Singers, really good in that poignant Southern fashion. Nov. 25-Begins another little holiday, Thanksgiving this time. And now it's one un- broken stretch of work, relieved only slightly by weekends, until Christmas. Dec. I-Helen Hiett, a very clever modern miss, told of her experiences in dictator- infested Europe. Dec. 21-Christmas cantat.1 convo. Quite a few warblers around school, we learned. Dec. 22-Merry Christmas! Very merry, for school's out till 1938! 5lan.3,1958-Wfell, it sounded nice. but '38 has a habit of stepping on '37's tail too eagerly. So here we are at the old grind again. lan. 17-O, woeful day! The end af the term brings those fateful report cards. lan. 18, 19-XVhat a lot of tragedy is packed into one little word -finals. jan. 24-Wfith a new ci'op of preps to enliven the routine, we start it all over again. Term after term- my, my, what an aimless existence! Feb. 12-jeff came in second in the debate tourney. Oh well, personally I think red is as pretty as blue - at least in ribbons - or anyway in prize ribbons. Feb. 16-Hanya Holm and her troupe went through the contortions of a modern dance demonstration. Extremely interesting. my children, and quite enlightening, and-hey. wake up! Iieb. 24-Fortune tellers, candy, balloons, an' everything! Know where? Of course, clever infants, at the P. T. A. Carnival. Mar. 2-NVhat a comfortable floor the skating rink has! Lots of people Qincluding mej made this discovery at the skating party sponsored by the Senior Hi-Y. Mar. 3, 4, Y-Sectionals -We went through with flying colors. But on - Mar. 12-XVell, even an e.1gle can't soar forever, let alone the proverbial aeronautical colors. All of which translated means- we kinda sorta were eliminated in the regionals. Oh, well, next year ....... Mar. 9-Murdock the Magician exhibited his mysterious powers.- Doggone it! I still can't figure out where he hid those doves. Mar. 19-Almost more of a social affair than a sporting event. But for fans of both types of entertainment there was plenty of fun popping at the semi-finals. May 20-XVords are not suflicient to describe the thrills and charms of that superb affair, the senior dance. Too. too divine, magnificent, wonderful, gorgeous-Oh, gosh! Supply your own adjectives.
