Split info two periods, the noon hour allows one group to settle down to advisory business as another invades the Cafeteria. All activity suddenly comes to a standstill as students pause to give thanks at the sound of the tardy bell. The tradition of boys ' and girls ' sitting on opposite sides of the Cafeteria is voluntary. Skeptical sophomores soon learn from veteran juniors and seniors to enjoy the time away from the opposite sex to talk freely with members of their own group. With Jefferson larger than it was last year, re- strictions enforced by ROTC guards on traffic in the halls during the lunch periods are a must. New en- closed arcades serve as all-weather settings for jammed sessions after lunch. Hour Routine Shuffling purses, books, paper bags, and pop bottles usually take up all the time and space that girls at the Senior Tabhe need for eating their lunches.
