It happens every Qepfember - great big, beautiful Jefferson, all 46 doors open wide, fills its vac- uum of two miles of halls and ninety-six classrooms with a strange, seemingly unfriendly on- slaught of teenagers in assorted shapes, sizes, and attitudes. Reg- istration is the 33rd Qeptember madness for these well-traveled corridors, confusing both new and veteran students. We take sides when the national Presiden- tial election comes around but unite forces behind the Mustangs. We have different hours, class- rooms, and teachers. Fall brings with it the sharpest change in our routine all year. 14 Winter will be nothing to dread ir sunny 9an Antonio. Although £ few cold blasts will come oui way, they will not hamper activiti on the social scene. Class anc club gatherings will keep us toe busy to worry about the weather.i

' : A« September is fhat time of year when we emerge from swimming pools and air con- ditioning into the familiar but almost-forgotten routine of school. Registration, fall ' s first shock, prepares us for the nine months ahead by letting us plan individual schedules and then race for our choice of teachers. After having all the pink, yellow, and white slips filled out In triplicate, we hurry to the book room, only to find others ahead of us waiting for state textbooks. Finally securing all needed books and covers, we deposit them in our lockers, the combination of which we can ' t recall at first, and drag home from the hot campus to regain strength for the first real day of school tomorrow. -■ .«» 16
