7 932 The 1932 faculty felt a justifiable pride in being asked to come to the fabulous new Thomas ,lefferson High School. Seventeen of them are still here to help us celebrate our Silver Anni- versary. Mrs. Theresa Hicks, among those who have made Jefferson a great school. says. NEW-:ry morning when I entered the building, I gave thanks to the Lord for the privilege of teaching in such a beautiful buildingf, Some of the traditions that have pre- vailed for twenty-five years were estab- lished in this very first year. Although most of that group had worked together at Main Avenue High School. there was still some getting acquainted to do at the first Open House held at the home of the principal. Teas, lunches, and game parties were held by that friendly group, which set the pace for the good will felt among this group since its earliest days. The Faculty Breakfast giv- en by the principal and the deans on the very last day of school in the arcade was held in 1932. To quote Miss Margaret Burke, an- other of our original teachers, 6'We were asked if we wanted to come to Jeffer- son. I chose to come and have never regretted it. I have always been very pleased to work with Mr. Rogers. Our traditions make us an outstanding schoolf'
