Mr. Thomas B. Portwood Superintendent San Antonio Schools Mr. Thomas B. Portwood, Superintendent of Public Schools, is the rnan most responsible for San An- tonio's splendid school system. lefferson students owe him a special debt of gratitude, for it was his vision that created this magnificent building, the colorful gardens, and tall, green trees which enhance the beauty of San Antonio and the life of each student. He strives always for the best, he has the foresight and determination necessary to be an efficient and capable Superintendent of Schools. The citizens of this city are quite fortunate to have a man such as Mr. Portwood at the head of the Public Schools. Mr. Oscar E. Miller Assistant Superintendent San Antonio High Schools A name that many students recognize immediately is that of Mr. Gscar E. Miller- the friendly, always smiling man who was at one time the principal of Horace Mann lunior School. Although he has many responsibilities and little free time, he is always gracious about coming to lefferson for special occasions. Much appreciation is due this capable Assistant Superintendent of Schools in charge of secondary education, for he executes each duty with a special sense of accuracy and efficiency. Mr. Oscar Miller is an invaluable executive and a shining example for each lefferson student to follow. PAGE 17
