ur Theme The present World crisis provides us with an opportune theme, one honoring Thomas Iefferson High School's military units, moulders of the men and women of tomorrow. Because San Antonio's military installations are an integral part of our nation's defense, your l95U Monticello also proudly salutes the Armed Forces in San Antonio, moulders of the men and women of today. Comf bining these two was a natural. Our Wish to have the boys of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps and the girls of the Cfirls' Cadet Corps go on supervised tours of San Antonio's fields and posts was so quickly appreciated loy the Public Information Offices, and invitations were so speedily issued us that our military theme Was soon on its Way to completion. Our hearty gratitude is extended to the Commanding Officers and Public lnformation Officers of The Fourth Army, Fort Sam Houston, Brooke General Hospital, Kelly Air Force Base, Lackland Air Force Base, Brooks Air Force Base, and Randolph Air Force Base for their Whole- hearted understanding, co-operation, hospitality, and courtesy. To you, Mr. Rogers, we gratefully dedicate our l95U edition of the Monticello. Through your complete under- standing of students' joys and sorrows, your rare sense of humor, your self-sacrificing devotion to our school, your sincere belief in us and your invaluable friendship for us, your belief in fair play, your splendid sense of values, and your exceptional executive ability, you make all of us want to be living examples of what Thomas lefferson High School means in the enrichment and ennoblement of the young people fortunate enough to be part of this beautiful school, whose destinies you have guided for almost nineteen years. Because of you, many of us have learned to face problems honestly, fear- lessly, frankly, to keep faith with our own ideals, to try to be better citizens. You have done so much to make our school one of the most beautiful and most outstand- ing in our nation. For all these things you have our hearty appreciation and our promise that we will do all in our power to live up to the high ideals we have learned in our own dear Thomas lefferson l-ligh School.
