The members of Mr. de Burgos's mixed chorus class dili- gently practice the beautiful songs we later hear, Music is important in Iefferson's curriculum. Through Mr. Zoeller's classes in A Orchestra, B Orchestra, band, stringed in- struments, and wind instruments, and through Mr. de Burgos's classes in harmony and voice, students learn the value of cooperation and develop an appreciation for good music and beauty. Iefferson students enjoy twelve drawing classes under two highly trained instruc- tors. Mechanical and machine drawing, embracing eight terms, architectural drawing, also embracing eight terms, and freehand drawing for two terms, are thoroughly en- joyed by the students fortunate enough to be enrolled. Many students are thus preparing for their life work.

Future dramatic stars rehearse seriously under Miss Orrell's kind guidance. The speech department offers debate, dra- matics, play production, stage-craft, and public speaking. Students acquire a knowledge of argumentation and practice in presenting suitable arguments, They learn poise, co- operation, and the ability to interpret character effectively. Ambitious radio-dramatics pupils train for important positions in the radio world under Miss Wolf's guidance. Begun in l937, the work in radio-dramatics is new in our school, yet already seventy-tive pupils are enjoying the work. The most interesting project was Take-Over Day at K.T.S.A.
