1Hm1ihrnt'n Zllarvmrll EEMINGLY it has been such a short time since we, the Class of Iune '36, entered Iefferson and began four of the happiest and most interesting years of our livesw- years that have instilled in our hearts the love of our school and the loyalty that it so deserves. As our minds go back, we can picture ourselves as Freshmen, iust becoming ac- customed to the habits that we had to form in order to make our high school lives successful. Soon the habits, ideals, and standards of Iefferson High School were firmly rooted in our minds, and a true uleffersonian Spirit hovered over our every thought and action. Now, as we stop to reflect, we Hnd that many of us had time to participate in a varied list of extra-curricula activities which were available for us to follow, and our class has achieved distinction in many of these fields..For those who were so in- clined, athletics beckoned. Our award assembly showed us those who had aspired toward scholarship. In a like manner, those talented in dramatics had many oppor- tunities to further their aims along that line. Many hours of practice and intensive training were necessary before those who were musically inclined became the accom- plished musicians they now are. In a like manner we shall soon advance into a new world, and what we have learned at school, valuable as it is, is only a beginning. To some of us graduation means the end of school life, to others the beginning of another plane of education. The end of our school work now or later merely means the commencement of those experiences which will put to test those principles we have learned. The success that one makes in his career through life will be due to his own initiative. So, as we depart from this dear old school, let us still carry with us the principles that we want to cherish, and make them blossom into something still greater and finer. Let us strive in all our undertakings to live up to our motto: Not finished, just begun. And now in bidding good-by to our school, to that wonderful source of inspira- tion our beloved principal, Mr. Hopkin Ienkins, and to the faculty and the student body, we must say that we regret leaving, but that we promise that the ideals of manhood and Womanhood that have been instilled in our minds will remain there forever. Farewell! -Gaoizcia MACKIN. Singing: lir imma. nr flugtiugr. al Ihr Img. Br rnuhr uungw makr nah iurl mhitr ytlflh
