Colonel Sanders, Johnny Bench, Nelson Rockefeller, and Jimmy Carter highlighted the year for Mr. Larson and six of his students when they travelled to the National FFA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri. Over 15,000 kids from all over America attended and planned activities for the coming year. A delicious chocolate cake with a bicentennial theme was presented to the faculty during National FFA Week. Earlier in the year, members sold fruit and candles. The basketball team had a victorious season topped off by playing in a tournament at Janesville Parker. Selling candy at noon to raise money for the Needy Children's Stocking Fund was a major undertaking of FTA. Their generosity was further demonstrated by presenting teachers with shiny, red apples during Education Week. FTA. (Upper Right) ROW 1: L. Jilek. D. Ganser. D. Hirschfeld, L. Strohbusch. ROW 2: J. Sponsoring a Valentine’s Day Polka Dance, and selling popcorn and items from the Tom-Watts Showcase were three profit-makers for FBLA. In February, Carol Erie and Pat French were selected to represent the club as Miss FBLA and Mr. FBLA at the regional leadership contest at Rosendale. Mouth-watering hot dogs and dietbreaking treats were sold by FHA at noon to finance a spring trip to Madison. Their biggest project was making a bicentennial flag. Homecoming played a major role in the activities of both clubs. FHA took first place in the float division and FBLA won first place in the van division. 20 fbla FHa
