He was also the National Honor Society advisor and head of the ticket sales. Mrs. Barfknecht and Mrs. Corbett (not pictured) introduced team teaching to English III students. Mrs. Barfknecht managed the magazine sales campaign and was head of the forensics program. Mrs. Franke and Mrs. Schwartz assisted with the forensics program and worked in the reading lab in addition to their academic subjects. 13

MISS IDA MAE MARSHALL Mrs. Pfau and Mr. Olson served as guidance counselors. They helped and advised students on schedule conflicts, scholarships, and vocational preparation. Miss Marshall saw to it that the library was kept in order. Many different books were added to its shelves. Coming through the open doors was soft music heard throughout the day. Mrs. Owens was new to the staff. She taught Spanish and made it seem REAL to the students because she had actually studied in Spain previously. Mrs. Dunkle taught speech and English. The bus drivers are: R. Lipperer, H. Schultz, B. Cutsforth, D. Tessman, R. Foskett, D. Beick, R. Reich, and W. Nodolf. The cooks are: Mrs. Lavine Burkert, Mrs. Betty Eisele, Mrs. Jane Kreklow, Mrs. Katherine Puerner, Mrs. Helen Lehman. Coming anti going at different times of the day, drivers maintained a very busy schedule this year. Neither rain nor snow, nor sleet nor hail, nor dark of night kept them from delivering us, their passengers. Bus drivers not present when picture was taken: W. Buske, F. Hutson, H. Schrantz, Mrs. Anfang, M. Bass, Mrs. Bass, J. Schafitzel, J. Shannon, L. Vande Zande, Mrs. Stewart, A. Schrantz. The cooks prepared all the meals for the hot lunch program. The meals were different and interesting, as could be seen by the many empty plates at the end of the noon hour. Our janitors once again made us proud to come to school each day. They kept the school spotless and still had time for any little job that had to be done.
