MR. REID JAMES There really is oxygen in that test tube, Bemie! Students Delve Into Learning Mr. James and Mr. Follensbee com -posed the science department. Mr. James taught sophomore biology. No sophomore will ever forget making the fox skeleton which was one of their major projects. Mr. James coached the cross country team through a fine season and also assisted Mr. Nodolf in track. Physics, advanced science, and chemistry were taught by Mr. Follensbee. In the fall of the year Mr. Follensbee accompanied the advanced science classes on a field trip to Devils Lake to study earth formations. Mr. Follensbee advised the student council and was the announcer at athletic events. Mr. Follensbee demonstrates the brightness of magnesium. MR. MR. RICHARD J. MARSHALL MR. L. GENE WILSON LEFT TO RIGHT: Miss Carol Alexander, Mrs. Evelyn L. Behnke, Mrs. Delores Stauffacher. Administration Mr. Marshall served as Superintendent of Schools for the 1966-67 school year. His time was spent interviewing candidates for teaching positions, attending meetings, and running the public school system with efficiency. Mr. Wilson served his fourth year as principal of Jefferson Senior High School. He, too, was kept busy with many administrative duties. Mrs. Behnke and Miss Alexander relieved Mrs. Emery of her position as secretary to Mr. Marshall. Mrs. Stauffacher resigned as secretary to Mr. Wilson and was replaced by Mrs. Mary Strohbusch. 6

MRS. CAROL MILLER MRS. MARY JOSEPH MR. WILLIAM NODOLF The business courses were instructed by Mrs. Joseph and Mrs. Miller. This was their first year at Jefferson. Mrs. Joseph taught Typing I, clerical office practice, and secretarial office practice. She also served as the advisor of the Business Club. Mrs. Miller taught bookkeeping, Typing II and Shorthand I. Mrs. Miller was the annual advisor. MR. DONALD HOFFMAN Mr. Nodolf and Mr. Hoffman taught mathematics this year. Mr. Nodolf instructed geometry and advanced mathematics. He was the track coach and school bus schedule coordinator. Algebra I and advanced algebra were taught by Mr. Hoffman, who also was the advisor of the Camera Club and sophomore class. 8
