In order to join G. A. A. a girl must take physical education. Beginning in the fall, the girls play soccer. In the winter they play volleyball, basketball. and do gymnastics in the gym during the noon hours. The girls finish up the year in the spring with badminton and softball. Every Tuesday night, the girls of Jefferson High School interested in tumbling, met in either the high school or elementary school gym to work on their tumbling stunts. Miss Steger, their advisor, helped the girls gain ability in working on the trampoline, horse, and parallel bars. They practiced the back flip, back drop, front drop, and swivel hips on the trampoline and mastered the various vaults on the horse. Along with their work on the apparatus, the Tumbling Club worked on various single and dual tumbling stunts such as the round-off, handspring, hand-knee flip and many others. Although Miss Steger was always there to help, the girls gladly accepted the assistance frequently offered them by Mr. Hussey. All in all, this year's Tumbling Club perfected many stunts and had fun doing it. ‘Jumblinq Club
