With the advisorship and talents of Mr. Goltry. a drama club, the Jefferson Jesters, was formed last fall. An election was held and the officers are as follows: President, Ralph Kraehnke; Vice President, Nancy Stilling; Secretary-Treasurer, Elaine Ganser; Publicity Director. Kathi Biasing. During meetings held every other week we learned something about set designing, costuming, and worked extensively with the art of make-up. Together we planned and made a float and entered it in the Homecoming Parade. The float BACK ROW: J. Burhans, D. Woelffer, L. Schumacher, S. Caucutt, J. Goeglein, M. Trebitowski, J. Nolte, B. Haubenschild, P. Olson. Jonen ica. and jbnama Club Forensics is a very important extracurricular activity. It develops the student’s ability to express himself while adding to his poise in speaking. This year’s regional Forensics contest was held at Jefferson under the fine guidance of Mr. Goltry. This year’s discussion team dealt with Federal Aid to Education. Discussion offers a fine opportunity to become more familiar with today’s problems. The 1961-62 Pen Staff worked many, long hours preparing the school news for presentation in The Pen. Sports and scholastic achievements, were well represented in all the issues of The Pen. These feature articles, along with surveys and editorials, made our newspaper enjoyable for both teachers and students.
