On every face there is a different expression. Some reflect relief at having reached this, the final goal of their high school career. Others reflect the sadness they are feeling. Many of my classmates are remembering all the fun and hard work of the last four years. Our class, though small in number, has always been large in spirit. The girls have participated in Y-Teens, G.A.A., and Girls Glee, the boys in football, basketball, base- ball, and D-Club. Together they have been active in choir, band, ensembles, and Science Club, and have attended such memorable events as the Y-Teen Dances, the Athletic Banquets, the Proms, the music festival and contests, and many others. They also worked together in putting on the junior and -12- senior class plays and editing the school paper when they were juniors, and the year- book when they were seniors. Besides being so social-minded, our class was well-represented scholastically. Eight of our classmates were members of the National llonor Society. Our class has shared many happy times and, of course, a few bad ones. Now, as the first strains of the Processional are heard, and we begin to move toward the future, we can only hope that all of us will keep the wonderful memories of our high school days with us throughout our lives.. To recognize their students and to encourage all students to try to attain this honor is the society's aim. The society was formed, and it is one of the many branches extending throughout the United States. The keystone slgpporting a flaming torch with the symbols S.L. .S., representing its standards is the emblem of the society. The band once again completed another successful year of marching. Ar each game the band gave an entertaining performance, which always added an interesting feature to football fans. For the annual band trip the members of the band traveled to Ohio State for a football game. After the football season the band slowed its tempo and became a concert band. In March the band traveled to Shawnee where they participated in the District Contest. The required number was Ballet Song , and the selected number was Overture Belgique The annual Spring Concert held by the band was in May, and it was very well done in every respect. i 1 , J.. -, ' ho- 3. This is the opening paragraph of the Future Farmers of America, and it expresses the purpose of the organization. This organization is the largest boy- owned and boy-operated of its kind in the world. It teaches the boys leadership, respect, and kindness in its doctrines. Not only do the boys learn how to manage a farm efficiently, but they also learn bar- gaining procedures, care and use of farm machinery, and essential factors of life on the farm. The members of the F.F'.A. can be very proud of their many achievements. Among them are their many awards for public speaking, the trip for some members who go to the F.F.A. Convention in October, and the annual participation in the Parliamentary Procedure contest. . 4 .. or, ,An E + W -qi? UQ A Ita I Q Q op:r1o,,, o x QAiFlFA1x' C -Q .Q - : 7' '7o4- 0:9 5 L 0 3,5 DQ! Who said that only boys play in sports to get their letters? Members of the Girls Athletic Association excel in volleyball, baseball, basketball, and bowling. By playing at noon hour they receive one point for each game they play. Other ways of getting points are: by attending meetings regularly, selling pop-corn at basketball games, and serv- ing on committees. The most important event of the year is the CAA Athletic Banquet. This banquet is given to honor all boys participating in sports at Jefferson.
