Senior History Tonight, asl put on my cap and gown, I could not help but remember the four years l spent in preparation for this event--four years of study, work and play. We have been a most industrious, and yet, a fun-loving class during these years. As freshmen, we were very sports-minded. The boys were Freshman champs in football and in GAA. the girls' basketball team won the intramural championship. That's teamwork! We were social-minded too, and oh, the excitement of our first formal dance! As all greenies are, we were rather confused at first in our new environment, but when our Sophomore year started we were rating to go, and we did! During this year, seven boys were initiated into the Varsity D-Club. The hard work and practice of the band and choir was worthwhile, because that year they both went to state con- ICSB. The next year we returned as Juniors, lead again by President Merlin Gould. Merlin had been our Sophomore presidentg Gary Poling our Freshman president. We started immediately on the Re-Echo and had our Hrst taste of journalism. Also, we had our first dramatic production, Professor, How Could Youl , which was worth all the ef- fort put into it. Then came the awaited moment, the night of our prom, Paradise Isle. I remember all the work gathering and assembling the parts for the fo1mtain. As the year drew to a close we had a class picnic, one of our happiest times together. In September 1956, we entered our final year at dear old D.H.S. with Jack Leeth as our president. We spent a lot of time and energy in building our yearbook, rehearsing for our class play, and capturing second place in the Northwest Conference. The big social affair of the year was the beautiful prom, given for us by the Juniors. Our graduation has come and gone, and we, with mixed emotions, are about to embark upon another great adventure.
