. Leadership . . Cooperation . . Citizenship . , . , thcsc are the aims of the Future Farmers of America. To teach these things to the boys was a big problem to the vocational agriculture teachers, and they thought the best way of getting good leadership would be to train farm boys through the F. F. A. Their goal was to set up local F. F. A. chapters all over the United States. In thcsc chapters the boys would choose their own leaders who in turn would set up a prograrn of work with definite goals. All F, F. A. activities are boy initiated and boy directed. The results therefore are due to farmer-training objectives set up and carried out by the boys themselves. Through F, F. A. activities the cooperative spirit is fostered and individual talent is discovered and developed. The organization embodies the fundamentals of a true democracy. Each member has a voice in setting up policies and making rules and regulations by which he is governed, Each member also has individual responsibility resting on his shoulders, but teamwork is essential to lasting accomplishment. -13- l to I'.iBl'll Violet. G. A. A. . . . Sportsmanship . . Leadership. . Companionship . . . . . . with these goals before us, we, the members of the Girls Athletic Association began a year of fun and activity. Remember the initiation last September? We're sure the Freshmen do. Black eyes, pixie hair-dos, dad's shirt on on backwards. and no cosmeticsg they certainly were a sight. Strike! Of course, the G. A. A. bowling tourney. We could have used a few to help our averages. Don't forget the noon hour intramuralsg hit pin, basketball, and a little ping pong for the less energetic. What year in G. A, A. would be complete without the an- nual Athletic Banquet honoring the boys who participated in our school sports. April 21 was the date. What is May Without a picnic? That's what we think too, so to honor the Seniors we Finished the year with an outing. Our organization, founded for the more scientific-minded students, off- ers enoyment both educationally and socially. The activities are divided into the six groups listed, each student choosing the one in which he is in- terested. The highlight of the year was our trip to the Bowling Green State Uni- versity Science Day Program. Our display received a good rating in. the competition. Another top event was our photograph contest held throughout the school. The winning photographs were sent to the Ohio Press Photography Association.
