l .L zz. Kenny Shaffer-Pres. Mary Lou Druckemiller--Sec. Pa tty Lou Tarter--V. Pres. Paul Allemeier-Treas. Gordon Carmean- Sargent-at-Arms On September, 7, 1948, forty--six eager boys and girls entered Delphos Jefferson High School as freshmen. Many things were ac- complished during the nine short months of school, work, football, basketball, and various other activities which we so eagerly had looked forward to for so long. Just think, now we were actually in high school! During this term our boys brought home the bacon by wining the runner's up trophy in the Freshman Tournament. The boys joined in the sports and the girls joined such activities as G. A. A., the Y-Teens, Library, Band, and Choir. Yes, this was truly a year of accom- plishment for the freshman class. In September 1949, we came back to school as Sophomores. It just didn't seem possible! During this year live boys earned their Varsity D letters which entitled them to join the Varsity D. Club. We all had fun our sophomore year but the school work was getting harder and it seemed we had to put a little more time into homework than ever before. The next year we returned as Juniors. This was a year of hard work for the Junior class. Besides the usual activities, several others were added. We undertook the task of edit- ing the Re-Echo which is the duty of every Junior class to report the news and gossip of school doings. Also, in the Junior year, we chose our class motto and colors. Our motto was Laugh and the world laughs with you. Our colors were the rainbow. Our first prom was quite a task but proved very successful. lt's theme was The Mardi Gras. It was a very colorful affair with all the serpentine, confetti, balloons, and costumes of a real Mardi Gras. Entering the four year of high school as smooth', seniors we became rushed in a whirl of activities. A Delphi Staff was chosen and we all became enthused over this welcome project. Other activities were the prom that was so graciously given for us by the Juniors, the Athletic Banquet and the Senior Class Play, I Remember Mama, a broadway hit. After our long awaited day of fun, Senior Day, we turned toward the more serious days of Baccalaureate and Commence- ment. So we the class of 1952 bid farewell to all of the teachers who helped us so patient- ly, and to all our underclass friends whom we shall truly miss and last of all we shall bid farewell to each other.
