Top Row: Suzanne DeWeese, Lois Carter. Second Bow: Miss Wanamaker, Grace Violet. Martina Mittermaier, Ethel Mox. First Row: Jeannette Culp, Darlene Wells, Elizabeth Jones, Billie Jo Brittingham. 'U-J The Y-Teens, under the capable direction of Miss Wanamaker, opened the 1949-50 school year with their traditional candlelight initiation of new members. After their initiation, the girls really settled down to business and on December 2, after a few months of careful planning, the Y-Teens presented their annual formal dance, The Cinderella Ball, in the auditor- ium, which was beautifully and appropriately decorated for the occasion. Don Underwood of Van Wert furnished the music for the evening. In March, a lecture was given on health. This lecture was both inter- esting and beneficial as it pointed out the value of good health and ways to maintain good health. In April, Miss Wanamaker's girls made a trip to the Van Wert YWCA in place of their monthly meeting and, needless to say, had a wonderful time. The last group activity of the year was the farewell party for the seniors and with this event, the Y-Teens closed the books on another event- ful and wonderful year. -20-
