Jeanette Culp, Anna Mae Wills, Arlene Schramm, Betty Butler. .E, . r..n' The G. A. A. started the year of girls' activities with the annual initia- tion of new members. The initiation was held on September 29th, at which time twenty-three new members were taken in, making a total of sixty- eight. During the home football games, the G. A. A. girls sold hot dogs, candy, potato chips, and coffee and sponsored dances after most of the home foot- ball games. Again the basketball season saw the girls busy with their selling of food. Business seemed unusually good because the exciting games whetted everyone's appetite. This year, for the Hrst time, the G. A. A. girls played football. Football and softball came in the fall and then came the various other activities: volleyball, basketball, ping-pong, bowling and badminton. The volleyball champions were the Juniors, and despite the stiff competition they faced in basketball, the Seniors took the honor of being the champions. This year a change was made in the G. A. A. plans. It honored both the basketball and football boys with a very nice banquet. At the banquet, the Sophomore girls put on a very clever and fitting skit, giving their inter- pretation of a combination football and basketball game. -13-
