61444 I7 6 Annes Griffin gave Doris Moyer advice on how to get a boyfriend. Anne has a love-lorn column, you now. Until l flatly refused, Barbara Riley kept pestering me to let her make a speech. She speaks for women's rights and, incidentally, had to interrupt a tour to attend the banquet. She was very peeved but sat down. The next time I looked at her she was happily conversing with Norma Troutman. Norma painfully became a public speaker and lectures upon the value of school office experience to the future stenographer. Considering our ages, l thought it suitable to let Dr. William Myers show us the latest in dentis- try. He explained that for years people have had false teeth to eat with, but a new set has been developed, a beautiful set for chewing the fat when meals are finished. He promised a set of these teeth to Rev. Walter Owen Delp, for a two minute advertisement in each Sunday sermon for seven weeks. Did you know that Rev. Delp ioined Ellen Mae Shank and James Rosell in dead- lock - l mean wedlock - lpoor printing on this scriptl. Ellen Mae operates a reducing salon. Adria Peffley, our skating teacher, will verify that. From what Brother Hensley told you, perhaps, you think that Russ Baker sang. That is not true. The golden throated Bobbie Jean Todd handled all vocals. Dr. Harold Ferguson gave special permission for Perry Lynn to leave the insane asylum for the party. ln fact, Dr. Ferguson let Perry wear his Sunday straight jacket. I guess Perry's adolescent attitude proved too much for his native ability. Oh! Here comes Ferguson now. l'll let him tell you a little story. Ferguson: Just recently Annis Faust learned to drive so she bought a car. She purchased one of those old i952 models. You know, the kind with the gasoline powered motors. Annis bought it from Jack Fout's used car lot. Bonnie Eshbaugh who is salesclerk for Jack, did the actual selling. Since Jack's cars are always a mechanical mess, it was necessary to have it repaired at Saul's garage. Byron suggested that she probably would get farther on a bicycle. Slightly peeved, Annis left the garage and next stopped for gasoline. A stupid looking gentleman named Jack Cyrus filled the gasoline tank, added oil, checked the battery, radiator and tires, wiped the windshield and offered to shine Annis' shoes ltoeless shoesl. She made a ten dollar down payment on the services, and continued her trip. She saw Joyce Pierce walking along the street. Wanting to show off her car, she stopped to offer Joyce a ride. In stopping she failed to signal a large transport truck behind her. The result - one broken utility pole and one badly mangled used car. Flying objects broke the window of a grocery store. The proprietor, Willie Faust, brought suit for damage, the light company sought settlement for the pole and Glen Rawlins arrested Annis for reckless driving. Perhaps you wonder how Annis managed to get here tonight. Well, Joyce Pierce is a divorce lawyer but she took the case anyway. First, she threatened Willie with a city ordinance calling for unbreakable glass so he withdrew his case. Then, she proved that the truck driver was exceed- ing the speed limit and on top of that, his eyesight was poor and he had been drinking - liquor. Next, she sued the light company for damages to Annis Foust's person when a stop light, loos- ened by the wreck, fell upon her head.. The light company settled out of court. Finally, seeing no other way out of the reckless driving charge, she had Annis declared insane. lt's all right for her to be here tonight because all insane people have parties. lMakes sweeping gestures over crowd.l
