Our council of Student Government... Jefferson High School's student coun- cil, under the advisorship of Mr. Gary Gos- sard, is a vital stepping stone in the stu- dent government. The council, which is com- prised of two elected members from each homeroom, has been active in many school functions. Each year the vice-president of the pre- vious year takes over as president and new officers are elected. This year's president is Darrick Whitaker. The council has deve- loped a student handbook which contains all . . E ofthe rules that each conscientious student must follow. They have four specific com- mittees that help maintain law and order throughout the school. These are: the fair elections committee, the school committee, the approval committee, and the publicity committee. The major achievements of this year's student council has been the consideration of rotating Lakeshore Conference Dance and the intense and hard work for the Third An- nual Spring Carnival. 1 , 2 ee- 4 ' Q ,rr ei fzrf 5' f ...L .L STUDENT COUNCIL FRONT ROW: l-eft to right, Bonita Wyatt Olaf Haakonstad, vice-president, Darrick Whitaker, president, Mr. Gossard, advisor, Frenchie Rouse, secretary, Laura Dobson, treasurer, Bill Myers.
