 The 1972 Alex football team did not have a good start, but by the end of the season they were play- ing quite respectfully. The season ended with a 2-7 record, however, considering that we lost four of our games at the hands of some of the top ranked teams in the state, their final record is nothing to be ashamed of. Matt Steidl received the most valuable player award from the team. Steve Olsen was the out- standing defensive player, while Rob Thompson and Bob Holverson were selected the outstanding offensive players for the year.

HOMECOMING Homecoming festivities at JHS emerged as one of the most exciting and colorful celebrations ever. The climactic corona- tion of the queen came on Thursday night with Julie Woodward being crowned Queen of Homecoming 1972. Her attendants were Nancy Larson and Terri McCabe. The junior attendant was Glen Pischke and the sophomore attendant was Julie Wads- worth. Although the weather caused the can- celation of the bonfire and the post- ponement of the parade, spirits remained high. Student creativity was in evidence throughout the entire celebration. The football team put on a show of su- perior strength as they conquered the Morris Tigers. 9
