This is a book of memories. It is about the things you did in 1963; it's about your teachers, your school; but, most important, it's about you. As we, the Alexian staff, created this book, we tried to portray in it the mood of you, the student, during this school year. 2

DEDICATION We, the class of 1963, take deep pride in dedicating this annual to our principal, Mr. C. B. Rykken. Mr. Rykken has served as Senior High Principal since 1945. During this time he has worked diligently to improve our school. His many students have come to love and respect him; his outstanding leadership has been a beacon for them to follow. They have felt it an honor to be associated with him. Mr. Rykken has been active in several state and local organizations. He has been for six years a member of the State Advisory Committee of North Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and is a past president of the Central Minnesota Principals' Association. He has been active in the local Scouting program, is a past president of the Alexandria Kiwanis Club and secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, and has acted as county chairman of the Easter Seal Society for several years. It is our hope that this dedication will in some small way express our thanks and appreciation to Mr. Rykken for all he has done for his students, his school, and his town. 4
