S a.U - v 4+s; a c + „ , s . f ». yv r ' '•-• t SSe y '. -Seniors Remember Jefferson- — We, the class of 1961. having attained one of the goals in life, now look toward the future with great anticipation but also with uncertainty. As grad- uation comes, we realize that we will never again roam the halls of Jefferson as students and leave our homework for a never tomorrow. As we left Central High, we moved into the new school as the first sophomore class of JHS. Al- though we stumbled through the letters of our class yell, there was a definite sense of growing unity. We were proud of our first homecoming attendant, Janet Knutson. Our junior year was full of excitement and hard work. Mary Larson represented us in the Home- coming festivities. Our class play, “The Curious Savage was a huge success. The first annual Mid-Winter Sports Festival was held with Joan Benson and Gary Eiden as the junior attend- ants. One would never guess that our Pink'n' Sweet candyland prom was really a bunch of staples, cardboard and chalk. As we became seniors, we realized that this year would be the last. We tried to make every meeting, class and game the very best. Class rings, pictures and gown measuring were early reminders that graduation was near. We chose Lona Hess as our Homecoming Queen with Dottie Hake and Sue Kemp as her Senior Attendants. We worked hard on our class play. Annie Get Your Gun. As spring rolled around, we were guests of the juniors at the prom. All too soon came the Senior Banquet, Honor Day, Baccalaureate and Commencement. Now we will all go on our way to whatever our future may hold, but we will never forget the good times and friends of our high school years. 6
