CANNON PRINCIPAL WILLIAM JORDAN B.A., Bridgewater M.Ed., Univ. of Virginia Principal a “. . . and while we realize your wish to establish a closer rapport with the students, the moustache must go. . .” ATTINELLO 18 . and then he disappeared into the floor over there... ” To the Graduating Class of 1970 It has been a real pleasure to know you and work with you during your four years at Jefferson High. We have not always been in complete agreement about ev- erything, but I feel that we have been able to keep channels of communication open and to arrive at mu- tually satisfying solutions to the problems which have confronted us. It seems that I make similar remarks to all of our graduating classes, but I honestly feel that you are leav- ing high school at a time when we are all faced with more difficult problems than any other class has faced. I know that your teachers, your parents, and I are all looking forward to some fine contributions from this class. Our society is going to need strong, sensible leadership in the days and years to come, and I am confident that you will do your part. Your teachers and I hope that your high school education has equipped you well for the many chal- lenges that now face you. We know that you can suc- ceed if you are willing to work hard, regardless of your goals. We all wish you the best of luck, and we invite you to come back to see us and to let us know when- ever we can help you in any way.
