ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS Mr. Bernard works behind the scenes to make our years at Jefferson as good and as interesting as possible. As Assistant Principal for Instruc¬ tion, he does not often deal personally with the students, but the results of his efforts can be seen everyday. He arranges for substitute teach¬ ers, approves field trips, and is the one re¬ sponsible for making sure we have textbooks and equipment. Mr. Bernard is the one to turn to when a key is needed to unlock? a display case or a room. An important part of his work that most of us take for granted is the planning of curriculum and the supervision of instruction. Mr. Bernard does an excellent job supplying the school with the organization needed to keep it running smoothly. FRANK BERNARD B.S., State Univ. of New York M.A., New York University Mr. Visnich is the man who comes most closely in touch with the students. As Assistant Principal for Administration, he begins each morning by checking the buses as they arrive. Throughout the day he calls students to the office, deals with attendance records, checks cars for park¬ ing stickers, disciplines those unwilling to obey the rules, greets people in the cafeteria, makes the seldom heard after¬ noon announcements, and waves good¬ bye to the buses while he holds his mysterious radio. Although one of his many jobs requires him to handle those who cause problems, Mr. Visnich is still well-liked and respected by the student body. WILLIAM JORDAN B.A., Bridgewater M.Ed., Univ. of Virginia Principal To the Graduating Class of 1968 As you leave Jefferson, your teachers and I wish you the very best of luck in all of your endeavors. Yours is the third class to graduate from Jefferson, but the first to have spent four years here. You entered as Freshmen the year we first opened our doors — in the fall of 1964 — and now, although it hardly seems possible that four years could pass so quickly, you are graduating. It has been a real pleasure for me to know you and to work with you. I feel that yours has been an out¬ standing class and that you have offered many contri¬ butions to the school. I hope that your high school education will enable you now to be successful as you enter college, the field of work, the military service, or whatever the future holds for you. Your teachers and I will always be ready to help you in any way that we can, so please keep in touch with us and come to see us whenever you can. 19
