C'l1e 111'11j' Like all American towns, our town has its own governing bodies: Prefect and Student Council. Their aim is to develop in each student a greater sense of responsibility, and to instill in the student body, to a deeper degree, the idea of self-govern- ment. Its advisers, Miss Edith Moore and Mr. C. L. Pitzer, jr., see to this. The school year opens with the Student Government Orientation Day when all new students are introduced to jetterson and its organizations. During the fall, the Student Government compiles the Student Directory. In this book the names and addresses of all our citizens are listed. Every year during November several students are sent by this organization to represent Jefferson at the annual meeting of the Southern Association of Student Councils. Here they study other student governments and return to our town with many new and useful ideas. ,SSW Cn.xkl.1'.s SIQLF . Ira ', L. rl. Ch1'11l1'rx, Ii.
