W. D. PAYNE, Principal To THE SENIORS OF IQSO It has been my very great pleasure to serve as your principal for three years. Thus, in a certain way, I am ready to graduate with you. Perhaps I shall be allowed to remain at Jefferson for some post-graduate work. Jefferson has been your home for three years, and I hope that you will carry with you many fond memories of the hours you have spent here. Your school has taught you much, and I believe that you are prepared to face life's battles With enthusiasm and courage. Do not fear the future, for I earnestly believe that your gene- ration will solve the problems of the atomic age, the hydrogen bomb and all others that may cross your horizon. You must build the citadel of lasting peace and brotherhood. I hope you Will strive at all times to be tolerant and to try to understand the people of other nations. Our prayers will follow you at all times, and We shall rejoice with you as your plans mature and develop.
