newer! ICC Hear now my .rong of love, melody immortalf Virginia, Virginia! Land of the gauntlet and the glove, V irginia, Virginia! i H orreback land of :ash and plume, Where they rode to wifdom, wonder and doom, V irginia, V irginia! I C I I I I I O O O U C O Q I O 'Hear now my .fong of love, melody immortal'. The cornerstone of our great nation is the state we proudly call our home. But we Virginians are not the only ones who have sung for it a song of love. Long ago, there was an Englishman who dreamed a dream of America, and then another who helped translate it into reality. Although Raleigh and Smith were born in England, they were real Virginians. Then, in the years of the forming of our nation, The Great Generation came almost entirely from our state. Vllashington, Jefferson, Nladison, Monroe, and Henry gave us a new title-that of Americans. Later, there were Poe, jackson, and Lee. tAlready in this twentieth century, such men as Wilson, Darden and Admiral Byrd have lifted their voices. Perhaps even now the song of Virginia is swelling in the heart and mind of someone here at jefferson who will find expression for it in the years ahead!
