Coach Smith observes the players' efforts in practice. Aside from the difficulties the junior varsity football team shared with the varsity, others also had to be faced. New coaches, a new school, and little equipment were all major problems, but these were overshadowed when one realizes that this team was composed of a large number of eighth graders, and with all of the remainder fresh¬ men. As opposed to teams composed largely of sopho¬ mores, this team's lack of size and experience was vir¬ tually insurmountable. Although their scores don't show it, this team's drive made up the difference. They proved themselves by tieing Brookville 6-6. Next, Staunton River was defeated 12-6.
