IT all seems funny and shorT-lived now, Those years aT JDHS. When you Try To remember, The images come Thick and fasT and The faces are blurred, and iT hurTs a liTTle To Think ThaT Things will go on wiThouT you. IT all wenT so fasT, and you didn'T realize ThaT you had so liTTle Time unTil suddenly iT was over, and all The Things you Took for granTed for so long are no longer a parT of your life. The years of high school run in cycles, buT This was your own special cycle, and iT seems dif- ferenT and personal and, now ThaT iT's over, very precious and brief. There were The mornings coming To school, and waiTing ouT on The fronT lawn for The firsT bell . . . The dew sTill on The grass, The sound of laughTer and Talk, The early-morning freshness. There were classes filled wiTh sTudenTs and The smell of ink and The shuffling of feeT, The sinking feeling when you were called on and couldn'T answer, and ThaT smug, fine feeling when you had sTudied and knew all The answers. There was ThaT Teacher you iusT couldn'T seem To geT along wiTh, and The one who frighTened you a liTTle, and The one you liked whose classes were inTeresT- ing and who made iT easy To learn a loT.
