,Anniversary In 1926 the doors of jefferson Davis Senior High School were opened to the boys and girls of the North Side for the first time. Twenty-five years later we pause in our work of picturing life in this building in 1950-'51 to pay our respects to six teachers who entered the building with those first students and who are still here: Miss Ethel MacKenzie, Miss Helen Mims, Mrs. Ferne Dansby Jennings, Miss Bernice Sanderson, Miss Luta Buchanan, and Miss Maude Martel. Also we salute the athletic teams, the BEAUVOIR staff, and the pep squad of a quarter of a century ago. Finally, we proudly present to you for the first time our name JEFFERSON DAVIS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL inscribed above our front door and the latest addition to the building.
