SELECTIONS r 2 Table ol Conlenls EYE OI: THE TIGED DEDICATION TO WENDELL TUCKER The Jeffersonian staff 01 1985 wishes to dedicate this years annual to Mr. Wendell Tucker. Wendell has been with J.CVC. since December of 1978 and is currently the head of the maintenance department. Previous to Jefferson, Wendell worked as lead superintendent in the Southern and New England states for the Stabbins Engineering firm, where he performed a variety of skills including masonry, and emergency trouble shooting. He is presently an assessor for the town of Pamelia as well. Wendell is seen by his peers to be an all around nice guy and is backed 1009?; by his workers who boast, you couldn't find a better boss to work for. He has been a dedicated worker and handles every task without complaint. In his spare time, Wendell bowls, enjoys fishing, boating, and hunting. He and his wife Carol live on Hinds Road in Watertown, They have three children, Michele, Yvonne, and Eric This description of a man most of us don't really know of is precisely the reason for this dedication. Without the people behind the scenes, the ones who are seldom noticed, places like J.C.C4 could never function smoothly. Due to this. Wendell's competence in his work, and the personal characteristics people around him see every day, we proudly dedicate the 1985 Jettersonian to him. Congratulations Wendell! mfisou to us; come: my 4 DEDICATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES: Margaret G, Gosier, Chairman Albert H. Brown, Vice Chairman Wesley A Danlels, JL Donald J . Gram Robert C. Howe Kim Manusewicz Gail C. Phillips Roberl Thatcher T. Urllng Walker George E. Woodruff PRESIDENT 5 DHOTDGDADHS 8: memories. Within the following pages is a collection of the year's high points . . . outstanding events, campus life, memories for all and perhaps a few nice surprises. This year's yearbook staff has worked diligently to provide the best overall llpicture of what JlC.C. is all about. Welve attempted to include all of the things that have made the past year unforgettable. Jefferson has been different in ways for all of us. It is the hard work, the friendships, and good times that make this book special for each of us, Several changes have been made to improve the overall quality and content of this 1985 annual to make it the finest publication in several years. The reason for this? When you look back many years from now on the all-nighter you pulled to finish your English paper, or the night you hit Fat Lennyls after a night of intense study, you can pull out the old Jeffersonian, leaf through it a little, and think, ttl remember that! ' ORIENTATION J.C.C.'s Student Orientation Day was held on August 23, 1985. It was designed to help students to become acquainted with the academic and social climate 0! J.GC. The day began with a slide presentation in the theater, Afterwards students were separated into small groups to talk with a Student Orientation Leader and a member of the J.C.C. Faculty, There they had a chance to ask any questions they had regarding campus life and expectations. Micro-seminars were also set-up to further inform students about any particular interests they had. In the afternoon students had a chance to relax at the College Picnic. Lots of great food was served along with entertainment by the band Moteal, until the end of the day when students had to go home to rest for that lirst day 0! class.
