x: ,4. 6?? iii You cannot waste time, for time is always here, neither more or less and al- ways moving at a steady pace. When you do not use time to the best possible ad- vantage to yourself, to society , . you are wasting yourself. Jefferson Community College Watertown, New York Jeffersonian Volume VII 1971 Faculty .............. 8 Activities ............ 22 Sports .............. 40 Freshmen ............ 50 Seniors .............. 66 agrmidenfa gmessage We live in a world in which the unique becomes commonplace over night, the new soon becomes the mode, the fad becomes tradition, and the tradition becomes past history in a decade's span, It seems a shocking truism of the cultivation of equality of educa- tional opportunity, that the catalyst for it is so often a product of war, of civil strife, of religious persecution, of social stratification, or any one of another dozen or more symptoms of man's inhumanity to man. We are making progress, but is our rate of progress rapid enough for survival? it is time for a stiffening ot resolve, a redefinition of purpose, a fear- Iessness in the face of adversity, and, most of all, a high sense of com- mitment. Through the means of reason and intellect and conscience and humanity, it is possible to move the earth to a higher level of civilization. It is through their com- bined efforts that a book becomes more than just pages. The people behind it are not limited to staff members but include everyone. We wish to thank our advisors, our special photographers, and our helpful faculty and student body. I further wish to thank the yearbook staff. They put in a lot of hours, and without their ideas and enthusiasm the book would mean absolutely nothing. I could single out each member on the staff because they have all contributed in some special way, not only by work but also by their friendship. The yearbook staff had two main objectives for the 1971 Jettersonian. The first was to make it something a little different from any other yearbook. The second and most important was making it our hook4 representation of the whole college. Our book has taken shape from many ideas and loose ends. We hope it repre- sents for each student the fun, work, and friends that are in the past, the present, and also the future. For these reasons we wish to dedicate the yearbook to you, The Senior Class. am W3 37 1;: .: c . '4';
