The president and treasurer, are elected from the junior and senior classes . The vice president and secretary are elected from the soph- omore and freshmen classes. The Student Senate has many duties to perform. It makes rules, plans the NJN pin sheets, appoints judges for cheer - leading try-outs, chooses a yearbook staff, schedules candy sales and class activities, and,in general, tries to do every- thing possible to better our school. Our Student Senate has sponsored record dances after home basketballgames to earn money to pay for the cost of the Awards Banquet held inJune. The Awards Banquet is a ban- quet , anyone may attend for the price of a ticket. At this dinner Coach, basketball players, cheerleaders, baseballplay- ers, cross country participants, and winners of scholarships are guests, and are presented with awards at this time. The Jefferson Student Senate has also sponsored a clean-up poster contest to encourage the students to keep our school clean . fennel and Qhoruo FIRST ROW, Left to right: E. Joslin, C. Dietz, W.
