June, 2010 Hidden behind a garden wall and tucked away from the 21st century is a humble establishment identified by a weath- ered sign swinging o'er the iron gate - nOld Folks.n This quite simply states that 'old folks' live within. These old folks are a rare collection of brain and bone, dating far back into another century. For here we have the Class of '52, 1952- It is fortunate that the eight members of the class have decided to terminate their lives together, for the at- mosphere of this home is indeed plesant and golden. We are all experiencing our 75th year of prosperous and happy lives. It has been 58 years since our graduation. That is many years to account for, so I will offer but brief summaries of our activities from then until now. Doris Buck accomplished her aim in life and became a home economics teacher back in the 20th century. She stud- ied further and established herself as a noted authority on foods and sewing, as well as designing. Doris keeps all the inmates of the home healthy with her 'old age' diets - Cal- though we long for a hearty meal at the expense of acute in- digestionj. Anna Weger followed her interests in the world of com- merce and taught commercial subjects after her graduation from college. She extended her knowledge directly to a prom- inent position in big business. Here at the home Anna takes charge of finances and efficiently manages all business af- fairs. As a crafty little old woman she has collected life insurance on us three times! Jackie Fraser continued to study music after 1952 and learned to play several instruments. She continued to work successfully along professional lines. Still, she considers the trombone the best of all instruments. We know because she plays it daily at the 'old folks' homeg a mighty loud instrument for a delicate old lady of 751 Mary Sue Hedman is constantly shuffling about, taking the greatest care of any minor 'old age' complaint. She be- came a nurse to the highest degree and loved the work im- mensely. If we have no ills she creates them for us, so that she can keep in the 'practice of the pills.'
