CLASS I-HSTCDRY We w1ll not bore our readers Wlth the h s+orv of our eventful GRADES Instead we lntend t re fe to you tme more thrilllng days of hlgh school Hlgh school was rather compllcated at flrst, but w1th the help of Mrs Scholl, our sponsor, and Ronald Swlng, our presldent, we managed to meet and defeat our problems One of these problems was our INITRTTON, wh1ch was held on he nlght of September 20, 19116 We faced 1t boldly, even though the rotten tomatoes and raw oysters were not too ap petlzlng Later 1n the year, Mlss Casey replaced Mrs Scholl W lost two members of our class that year Phyllls Aumlller, who moved to Fort Wayne, and Patrlcla Crawford, who 18 now at Roanoke In the fall of 'h7, we were back 1n the harness aga1n, thls t1me under the name of sophomores Mrs Tester, a new member of the faculty, fllled the honored posltlon of NSpon sorn and Glor1a Sheets became the new presldent w1th Davld Hasty, v1ce presldent, Mary Hlnen, secretary, Maxlne Teusch, We sophomores spent an engoyable evenlng September l9, torturlng the freshmen at the 1n1t1at1on party It wasn't as rough as the one we had to go through Crules you knowj October 18, l9h7,we traveled to Indlana Unlverslty to see P1ttSbuTg play Indlana It was very n1ce trlp Cask anyone who knowsj We lost flve classmates and galned one that year Those lost were Joy Mendenhall, Dale Thompson, Lyle Zorger, Earl Langston, and Marllyn Gllck Our new classmate was Max Yarlan from North Slde Hlgh School 1n Fort Wayne To start the eleventh year off w1th a bang, we took pos sesslon of the junior store, whlch proved to be our maln source of lncome Later, one of our best classmates, Delores Harbor, was forced to leave us after a long lllness However, the va cancy was fllled by Harrls Hine, a br1ght, young lad from Roanoke Harrls and Ronald Sw1ng represented the Jun10PS most strongly on the vars1ty squad October 30, we took our annual football trip Thls tlme we went to Purdue Un1vers1ty to see the Bollermakers play Marquette We found the campus very lnterestlng also The hlgh lltg of the year was our Jun1or Sen1or Recep t1on After a sumptuous dlnner, we escorted the senlors to the Jefferson theater Our class off1oers were as follows Ivahmae Vogely Presldent Maxlne TeuSCh--VlCe Presldent Glorla Sheets--Secretary Mary Hinen--Treasurer , ' ' i , 0 un- .
